Let’s face it... school brings a lot of stress. Whether you’re drowning in homework or drama, the whole experience can leave you drained of any and all energy. But once school is out, summer comes and it is the perfect time to redeem yourself. And, it's one of the best times to work on a new and improved you.
1. Pick up a new hobby
During the school year, there isn’t much time to do the things that you enjoy. Lucky for you, there is now a surplus of free time- so take advantage of it. Take up a pottery class, read a book (that isn’t terrible), or start writing again. Do whatever your heart desires! You finally have time to do the things you enjoy.
2. Make a list of goals
As cliche as it may sound, making goals is the easiest way to keep yourself on track. Think about what you want for yourself. Do you want to become more confident? Or maybe there's a new restaurant you would like to eat at. Whether they're short-term or long-term, having goals is a good habit.
3. Take care of yourself
Now I know you’re tempted to stay up every night, but now is the time to catch up on sleep. School brought on many sleepless nights and now is the time to rejuvenate. Give your body the rest it truly deserves. It also doesn’t hurt to pamper yourself... take a break from makeup and try a face mask. Or start working out. Do things your body will thank you for later.
4. Have fun
With no assignments due Monday morning, you are free to have fun. Make sure you enjoy yourself this summer, regardless of what you’re doing. Make every moment count. You, my friend, are finally free... for now.
